Image tools
The Image tools are for hands-on work on one image at a time. To make a complete ad from a brief, use Create instead. Open Tools → Image tools in the left rail. The tools sit in a row of round buttons under the box at the bottom of the page; hover one to see its name.
Start with an image
Generate makes new images from a prompt. Describe the image you want, then pick the shape, how many images to make and, if you like, a model (Auto picks one for you). Use + to bring in your products, characters, a style, or a picture to work from. The price shows next to the send button before you press it. New images appear in the gallery.
Every other tool works on an image you already have. Open the tool and Upload image, Pick from Creatives or Pick from assets, or drop or paste an image straight in. From the gallery, a card's menu has Edit, which opens the image in AI Edit.
The tools
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| AI Edit | Change the image by describing it. |
| Upscale | A sharper, bigger file. |
| Background | Remove the background, or replace it with a new one. |
| Resize | Reframe the image to a new shape. |
| Localize | Translate the words in the image. |
| Adapt | Make copies sized for each ad platform. |
| Animate | Turn the image into a short video. |
AI Edit has two modes. Prompt changes the whole image from a description, like "make the background light blue". Visual changes only the parts you mark: drag a box or draw a loop around an area, write what should change, and the rest stays as it was.
Upscale makes the image 2× or 4× bigger and sharper. If the image is already large, only 2× may be offered.
Background has two modes. Remove keeps the subject with a clean, transparent edge. Replace puts a new background behind it: describe the one you want.
Resize changes the image's shape. Pick a shape from the list, from 1:1 and 4:5 to 9:16 and 16:9, or type a custom size. Expand widens the picture and fills the new area to match; you can describe what should go there. Crop trims it to the shape you pick, and is free.
Localize replaces the words in the image with the same words in another language, and leaves every other part of the picture as it was. Pick one or more Target languages; you get one version per language, and the button shows the total.
Adapt makes the image in the sizes each ad platform asks for, such as Meta's feed and Story / Reels, a TikTok feed ad or a Pinterest pin. Pick the formats you need; the ones marked AI have the picture extended to fit. Each one is saved as its own image, linked to the original.
Animate turns the image into a short video in the same shape. Push-In, Cinematic Pan and Pan & Zoom are free camera moves over the still, ready at once, in 3, 5 or 8 seconds. AI Motion and AI Showcase make real motion, like a turn around the product, and cost credits. Each video is saved as its own item.
Every tool shows its price before you start, on the button or next to it.
Versions
AI Edit, Upscale, Background, Resize and Localize don't replace your image. Each one adds a new version, and the original is always kept. The dots on the canvas switch between versions, and holding the eye button shows the original. Download saves the version on screen.
Open the image from Creatives to see every version in a strip under it. Pick one, press Use (the button reads, for example, "Use Upscaled 2× instead"), and your grid and downloads use that version from then on.
If a version fails, it says so, and the credits for it come back automatically.
