Facebook Reels image ad size

A Facebook Reels image ad is 9:16 at 1440 × 2560 pixels, a JPG or PNG up to 30 MB, at least 600 × 600 with a 3% aspect ratio tolerance. Keep the top 14%, bottom 35%, 6% of each side and the bottom 40% of the right-hand 21% clear. Meta's Reels image page also recommends no text on the image at all, citing the small image size.

What the other guides get wrong

Spec sheets give Facebook Reels images as 1.91:1 to 1:1 at 1080 × 1080 or larger. Neither of Meta's Reels image pages says that: a full-screen Reels image ad is 9:16 at 1440 × 2560, and the overlay image Meta places on a Reel as a banner or sticker is 1:1, at least 1080 × 1080.
